Council owned Lothian Buses have hit thier riders with yet another inflation busting rise. The lastest 15% rise will affect the city’s most vulnerable who use off-peak tickets. This comes just one year after a previous 10% rise. Just to cap it all off, they have come up with the most unbelievable excuse ever heard:
The company says the move is aimed at making it easier for residents and tourists to understand the cost of all-day tickets, with the previous system apparently leading to confusion over when the cheaper price was available.
Edinburgh’s transport nazi ‘Bumbling’ Andrew Burns said:
“Any fares review is a commercial decision for Lothian Buses, but I broadly welcome the ongoing simplification of fares structures by bus operators.”
I suppose the next simplification should be make them all £5 so that people don’t need to find change!
