With expensively produced flashy leaflets, expensively hand delivered through doors today in the selected areas, TransportEdinburgh is finally taking the first steps to cutting down the speeds of the rogue drivers through the residential areas. The website quoted in the piece also has problems. Users are unable to view the PDF files which detail exactly what is being done in their area.
Alas, for the Magdalene area, this comes too late. The state of the roads in Magdalene has been allowed by the council to detiorate so much that children on their bicycles are being injured almost daily with the amount of potholes in the residential area.
Readers will remember that local councillor Maureen Child told a concerned member of the public that a child would have to be killed first in this area before speedbumps would be installed, they have so far beaten that record.
