Scotland’s, tourist industry was delivered a massive blow when Jack Munro quit the extremely secretive government agency VisitScotland.
Jack Munro has taken early retirement under a pay-off deal which includes a gagging clause barring him speaking about the disagreement. This means that we the taxpayers, cannot find out the truth why this highly important person who credited with a massive tourism boom in the area during his ten years in charge.
A VisitScotland insider said: “There is so much uncertainty at the moment. Everyone is turning up for work and getting paid, but many are effectively having to reapply for their own jobs. We always knew it would not be an entirely smooth integration and we are prepared for the rough ride.”
If someone with such a high profile in a publicly funded industry quits, the Scottish public have a right to know why. There should not be a payment dependant on a gag order. Philip Riddle, the head of VisitScotland should immediately tear up the gag order and we should know why this high profile tourism cheif has quit.
This will cost Edinburgh dearly as it is well known in tourism circles that Riddle is trying to improve the tourism to Glasgow at the cost of Edinburgh. TAX PAYERS SHOULD NOT PAY FOR GAG ORDERS. Any VistScotland insiders wishing to anonymously leak information please do so here.
