Galas under threat after council refuse help

The hated ChildFurther proof that the city council will do nothing to help the citizens it is supposed to help came today when the Council and their mean, lying, finance chief totally ruled out any help to the hundreds if not thousands of volunteers who organise the many galas around the city.

All of these community event are now under threat because the event organisers are battling soaring insurance costs.

The Clermiston and Drumbrae Gala’s public liability insurance soared last year from £150 to £750. And the Davidson’s Mains Gala had initially been quoted £800 for insurance, compared to the previous year’s £240 premium, before securing a £300 deal.

Today, gala organisers said they were “disappointed” the city council had not decided to offer any significant help.

Councillor Child, who is detested in her own constituency for trying to close down Brunstane School, feels that an information leaflet will suffice.

Surely it is the job of the council to help these UNPAID VOLUNTEERS and their communities.
