The candidate currently winning the cheating game in Edinburgh, Nigel Griffiths, failed to attend this weekend’s hustings debate in his constituency. The debate organised by Edinburgh Stop the War Coalition and moderated by a local clergyman had otherwise a full turnout of candidates according to ionetics. Even the pro-war Conservative candidate Gavin Brown turned up to show he had definitely beaten Griffiths in the ‘balls’ stakes.
The reason given by Edinburgh South’s “slimeball-in-chief” missing out on meeting his constituents is that he feared a biased meeting! So that’s all right then - Politicians only turn up at home matches.
Readers will remember Nasty Nigel kicked off the cheating when he put up illegal posters which council tax payers had to pay to be removed by the cleansing department, the then went on to steal quotes from his Green Party candidate (who did turn up to the hustings). Further back he was the MP who was found guilty of breaking Westminster rules by using his constituency office for party political uses. He was also criticised for failing to declare that he owned the property that he was renting as a constituency office and the taxpayer was paying for.
There were rumours going around in a local pub (Grey Horse) on Saturday night that he had a fiddle going on with Postal votes (as outlined in this article) but this has so far not been confirmed.
