Donald Anderson just doesn’t have the balls

The Evening News were a lot kinder to our leader on the Internet than in print. The picture to the left took up most of the front page under the headline “Bottled It! and that is a much better description of what happened inside the hallowed halls of the Labour group meetings. This ‘leader’ will not do what is best for the city, he prefers to do what is best for his political cronies and screw the population.

The meeting at which Anderson presided lasted 3 hours and not only did they pacify everyone’s fight for more power but they have also cost the poll-tax payers of Edinburgh more money by satisfying the need for power that these councillors thrive on.

But, in a move seen as an attempt to “buy off” backbench critics of Cllr Burns and the leadership, four new posts as head of policy forums are to be created within weeks.

They are expected to be handed to Labour councillors who would have hoped to have benefited from a reshuffle last night, but have been left empty-handed. The Labour group voted to retain the status quo within the council executive rather than switch Cllr Burns into another job after the three-hour summit.

Four new positions are to be created in this thirst for power. We have Four new questions. What the people of Edinburgh need to know is:
1. What is the cost of these positions to the Council?
2. What is the cost of supporting these positions to the Council?
3. What qualifications will the Council be seeking in those appointed to the post to make sure that they can carry out their jobs correctly?
4. what is the ‘return on investment’ for the people of Edinburgh who are financing this power grabbing operation?

If all of the above questions cannot be answered in the public then they are abusing their power and squandering our money.

If a person running a company had to run it the way this leader is running the Council, they would be out of business in days!
