I don’t think it was anything to do with our post here, but thank god, James Gray, the shadow Scottish secretary had the balls to resign today.
SNP constitution spokesman Pete Wishart said: “These outrageous comments by the shadow Scottish secretary could normally be dismissed, but this is the man chosen by Michael Howard to represent the Tories on Scottish issues in the House of Commons.”
Pete was quite right and thank god McLetchie came out in public and was in agreement with Wishart.
Mr McLetchie said Mr Gray’s position had become “untenable”.
“Resignation was the only option since Michael Howard has made it clear that he runs a disciplined and accountable team at Westminster,” he said.
The new one is a Eleanor Laing who was born and bred in Scotland but is unfortunately another south of England MP being MP for Epping Forest.
