The worst of all words is how the Church of Scotland, currently having their General Assembly in Edinburgh, described the current Asylum policy in the country.
[The Geneva Convention] has afforded a level of protection which we are now continually eroding in an attempt to control numbers, irrespective of the human stories attached to those numbers.
The General Assembly voted unanimously that the report which said that the UK’s asylum policy was attacking fundamental human rights in the pursuit of reducing numbers, was compiled by the ethnic minorities sub-committee of the Presbytery of Glasgow, be put to the government.
