Full-Time Steve Cardownie?

So the figures for how much the Councillors are pocketing from expenses are out with Deputy Lord Provost, and brass necked Steve Cardownie topping the list by theiving £6558 in expenses.

This is the dodgy councillor who shamed the city by offering drinks promotions at his bar whilst the Council was spending fortunes trying to cut down binge drinking.

Councillors today said their expenses reflect the hard work they are doing on behalf of Edinburgh at home and abroad. Councillor Cardownie, who is also the city’s festivals and events champion, said: “I am a full-time councillor so my expenses have always been near the top of the list. Edinburgh is an international city and to maintain the profile of the city internationally, we need to meet our counterparts to find out what will be of mutual benefit to us.

“That’s how we get the top international exhibitions we get in Edinburgh and I think it’s money well spent.”

Really councillor? So if you are a full time councillor, how come you own a bar - you take no part in running that bar? I don’t believe you and neither do I think the citizens of Edinburgh believe you. You broke council rules by running a bar illegally from the Council. You openly promoted binge drinking at your bar and now you tell us you are a full time councillor. Yeah! We all believe that!

I wonder how much of the councillors expenses were spent on meetings and travel to come up with the inspiring capital logo fiasco.

I have been going through the Council’s website to find the list of expenses but unfortunately they don’t think we are capable of seeing it. If anyone knows where to find the list, or has a copy of the list, please contact us.
