So the people of Edinburgh have spoken and have not given too high praise for the £800,000 new logo that Donald Anderson, our illustrious leader, thinks is overwhelmingly positive and that the logo is “eye-catching” and “imaginative”..
It just shows how out of touch our local politicians are with their electorate and gives the reason why THEY SHOULD GO and stop spending the money we are spending on Council tax on what is basically a load of crap.
I totally understand that marketing and logos are always a bit of one side or the other. However, with this logo which looks like three Scud Missiles coming in from the Forth, over Arthurs Seat and slamming into Edinburgh - I think they have gone way too far.
The agency selected, Interbrand, have let the city down in many ways which will soon become evident and they have to go. They have been quoted that:
“Residents also feel the lines gently echo some of the distinctive physical characteristics of the city region - from the dramatic arches of the Forth Bridge to the undulations of Arthur’s Seat and the lines of the nation’s saltire.”
That to me seems like marketing speak, nothing at all like the ordinary citizen on Princes Street would come up with.
