It’s not Edinburgh

I know this doesn’t have any bearing at all on Edinburgh except that it appeared in today’s Scotsman but I just thought it should be pointed out to show how people looking after our money actually think and the types of spin they put on it:

Payout exaggerated

You say £800 million of Lottery money was “consumed” by the Dome (your report, 28 May). This is incorrect. The true figure is £603 million. The Lottery should also receive around £70 million from the development on the Greenwich peninsula over the next 25 years.

So that’s alrighty then - it’s only a£533 million loss - if the £70 million actually turns up over the next 25 years.

If anyone reading this is alive in 25 years and is able to check out whether the lottery get’s that money, will you remember to update this post please.
