Making money on the stock transfer? The city’s housing supremo, blinkered Sheila Gilmore, is way to good to turn up at a public debate chaired by MSP Margo MacDonald on whether the to sell off the Council housing stock even although she is handy at writing letters to the Evening News about it on a regular basis - maybe the letter writing is because she knows that she doesn’t have to answer questions with her letters to the News.

EAST (Edinburgh Against Stock Transfer) also claims that stock transfer in Glasgow was a failure because promised new homes have not been built and repairs are not completed.

The group’s flyer said: “Tenants in Glasgow have had to use court action to force the new landlord to tackle damp, cold, mouldy and smelly houses.

Of course not turning up at the debate is standard practice for today’s councillors who are afraid to meet the people who voted them in because there’s no money in it for them.

Sheila Gilmore has better things to do because she is already the co-owner of two houses in Edinburgh. She is supposed to be the Chairwoman of the City of Edinburgh Housing Association so that puts her on the way to making her first million in her book.

The Gilmore woman is also well known as the election agent of Nigel Griffiths who was caught and repremanded by the UK parliament for cheating on his expenses. She made the press just before the election when he again cheated in the election by illegally putting up posters weeks in advance of the election and council workers were sent round to take them down at the expense of the Edinburgh council tax payers.

EAST further claims that:

“Tenants in Glasgow have had to use court action to force the new landlord to tackle damp, cold, mouldy and smelly houses. “Thousands of people have had their homes demolished and yet new ones are not being built.”

Gilmore in her article in the Evening News tonight she speaks as though this is a completely done deal. Maybe this is why she won’t turn up to the debate. She doesn’t have to. Is it possible knows the election is rigged?
