EdinburghSucks! has now received a number of emails from residents of the Niddrie Marischal area asking for help in contacting their local Councillor.
It seems since the announcement that almost literally, their back gardens are going to be used to house the protesters that are heading for Edinburgh and temporarily residing at the Jack Kane Center.
They were shocked to read in the Evening News that he had attended a meeting to discuss what was going on without first returning the calls of his constitutents who have been trying to get hold of him for the past two weeks.
There has been a lot of anger in Niddrie Marischal because they have been trying to get a hold of Jack O’Donnell for over two weeks and nothing yet after the article in the evening news he suddenly appeared to try to reassure - it was too late. I dont think he has ever been to a public or community meeting in the last two years so his only contact with the community is through the cabal
According to our mailbox, Craigmillar is becoming a hotbed of activity and people living there are not happy about their representation nor their perceived representation in the press:
It angers people that it seems that Nolan is the only person in Craigmillar with a phone if the evening news is to be believed cos no other community leaders are ever approached. I also know that letters that are anti Nolan dont get printed and their has been a few recently. There is obviously a connection there that he has influence over what gets printed because everyone of his/family gets in right away.
All the above has been taken from letters received only in the last hour. We have been receiving a huge amount of emails on various problems in Craigmillar including - The Craigmillar Declaration:
Walker has written to projects that didnt sign up the the Craigmillar Declaration scolding them and asking them to do it now. They have also now resorted to leaving a copy in the shop at the Hays for people to sign - even kids are signing it and it is quite clear they dont know anything about what they are signing up to.
With regard to the champagne and smoked salmon reception at Craigmillar castle to sign the declaration:
I was told that the champagne etc served at the Castle was not for locals - one lady from Niddrie House was told ‘thats not for you its for the dignitaries’ by a member of CBP staff.
Because the subject of Craigmillar has come up so much in our mail, we have decided to start new categories for areas in Edinburgh to allow our users to keep track on stories we run about their areas. Craigmillar will be the first and readers can contact us here.
