Portobello Labour Party censors Locals

When we started writing this post we had received 2, now we have received 3 emails from disgruntled Portobello residents this morning who are worried about the censorship of the East Edinburgh Labour Party on their local bulletin board Portobello-Online. It seems that a local businessman put an innocent request on the board only to have the post removed and his registration cancelled within an hour.

I have been viewing the board for months and I decided to post a question which was “Does anyone here think there is a need for Edinburghsucks.com. I didn’t even put a link there and a few minutes later when I went to reply to another post I found out I couldn’t. I own businesses in Portobello, I own property in Portobello and I employ local people and I live in Portobello. I gave a lot of support to the PCATS organisation to stop the supermarket being built in Portobello and these quazi political nazis.

It is interesting to see that the East Edinburgh department of Labour are the same as the City Center department, neither of them can manage to get the correct domain names.

The second email’s tastiest paragraph after the ‘did you know’ paragraph is:

the site is run by a crew totally loyal to Maureen Child. If she noticed that there was anything against the Council on the board it would be immediately deleted. There has been infighting in the board for years about this with lots of people being banned on Child’s orders. Her No.1 henchman is a labour party member called Bob Jefferson - he is kind of like her Goebbels

This interests me intensely. Isn’t Maureen Child the Councillor for Milton and her face is right there on the front of Portobello Online. After reading through the site, it seems that Child is the unelected member for Portobello whilst her Milton constituency get’s shafted. Maybe she should stop spending time breaking the law by putting up illegal posters around the city and get her arse over to her constituency and do what she is paid to do.

when I went to add a comment to the post i wrote it out and then when i hit the submit button the post had disappeared, others had already replied to it. Can you put one of these up for Portobello - we need independence from this lot.

I must say this is the most amount of emails in such a short time one one subject like this we have received. Portobello Online and the labour party now know I am watching and reporting.

Emails just keep flooding in on this subject. We are now at 13 in about 8 hours, The quote below is really worth mentioning:

i see you are referring to Bob “the Nazi” at Portobello Online. He is Maureen Child’s lapdog and her online bruiser. To show just how bad he is, we had a public meeting to discuss the nightmare the council put us in on the Pitz sale. After the meeting he showed his dismay that he couldn’t shut people up - quote “I was also at last night’s meeting, sitting just behind Epykat in fact. I wonder sometimes about the value of this type of meeting. Had it been an online discussion I would have been tempted to make much use of the edit, move and delete functions. ” You can’t make this stuff up! For proof go to CLICK HERE what he is saying is that at a public meeting he wanted people shut up and only say things he agrees with.

I went over to the URL and it is indeed true. You really can’t make this stuff up. Isn’t it about time the people of Portobello were allowed to have their say on their own online community board without this Bob guy doing his stuff on behalf of a politicial party and it’s unelected representatives.
