The council’s transport department are under fire again in the letter’s page of the Evening News.
Council beggars belief
I TOOK a trip down North Bridge to Princes Street this week and the council have stuck a sign in the middle lane at the junction of North Bridge and Princes Street regarding the routes that the buses and cars must take.
Surely this sign could have been put somewhere else, it is just causing huge tailbacks up the Bridges.
It’s starting to beggar belief what the council is getting up to now.

Changed without warning
WOULD someone at the council like to explain their logic concerning bus stops on Princes Street in the wake of the restructuring of the West End?
Firstly, we were all well warned that services would be redirected away from George Street. There was no warning that I could see, however, that bus stops on Princes Street would change for some services.
On Sunday night, this almost led to me missing the last No29 home, due to the stop being moved from across from the Waverley Steps to near the corner of St David Street. Similarily, I attempted to get a No3 on Wednesday evening from outside the former Menzies store, just to find that this service no longer stops there. This resulted in me having to walk to the next block - not a problem for me but one wonders how a disabled person would cope in a similar situation.
Also, the new bus stop near St David Street is far too close to the corner and seems to be an accident waiting to happen - not that it will happen soon. This new stop having been opened just last Sunday, I noticed on Wednesday that it had been closed off due to the ongoing roadworks on Princes Street. Wonderful forward thinking.
