New Lib Dem leader is lazy

According to a labour insider in today’s Scotland on Sunday, the experienced and wily Jim Wallace has departed and left his party under the charge of a lazy and inexperienced upstart.

One Labour MSP said: “We are winning out on this because Jim Wallace was far more formidable. Nicol is lazy. This is an opportunity for us.”

The interesting take on the quote is that they are not going to do better out of it because they can to do better on their own. They are going to do better buy taking advantage of the perceived inexperience of Nichol Stephen.

Things should be interesting over the coming months to see how Stephen cuts his teeth in the reshaped Lib Dems. We will be taking a keen interest on how he handles his new post as enterprise minister. Scotland badly needs an enterprise minister to bring back some badly needed hi-tech jobs into the fast dwindling ‘Silicon Glen’.
