Rule-Breaking Publican It has been confirmed that one of the readers letters which we published on June 21st has got someone to get off their butt in the city council - the Deputy Provost no less.

..princess st. gardens, thousands of visitors every week of the year and yet a principle feature the Ross Fountain sits with no water coming out of it, this is after a major facelift a couple of years ago…the electricity supply box to power the fountain was destroyed by fire last winter..why is it taking the glorious council so long to get a straightforward job like the reinstatement of the power sorted and get the marvellous fountain back up and running again

Now in today’s Evening News it seems that Cardownie, (who is better known for running an illegal bar and going against council policy by promoting binge drinking at said bar) thinks that “It is vitally important that the fountain should be working properly. We are in the middle of the tourist season, and it is very sad indeed that the fountain is not working.”

Extremely strange that Cardownie has to be prodded by this site about the fountain when just recently there was a £40,000 fundraising drive to rescue it from ruin.

“I said at the time that it was ludicrous that it was not working, and I am disappointed to hear that it has happened again.

“I will be asking questions about what is happening, and will see what I can do to get it fixed.”
