I get taxi's with blue lights on top Our former Lord Provost and current convenor of the Lothian Police Board has been has come under fire today with numerous emails to EdinburghSucks!com from present and past police officers in the city - and they have a point.

the new ACC Tom Halpin came over well but there’s a significant silence from the top

and the boys in blue had more specific attacks on Milligan and Council Leader Teflon Don Anderson

I and a number of ex-police colleagues share your tremendous admiration for the guys (and girls) on the ground who acted with commendable restraint on Monday.(Yes, I’ve seen the NYPD in action too!) But, apart from the Teflon Don, hiding down at Fettes and watching the Carnage unfold on CCTelly, he’s been notably (and uncharacteristically) quiet. As has the Convenor of the Police Board, the Execrable ‘Oor Eric’ Milligan ( Blue Light Taxis to Glasgow his speciality) - where is his expression of support?

and one specifically for Ex-Provost Milligan

and that lowlife has us running him and his mates to Hearts matches in glasgow, there was supposed to be an inquiry but that was quickly dropped when it dropped out of the papers keep up the good work we are all behind you

What has totally thrown me a curve-ball in this situation is that the local bobbies are actually readers of EdinburghSucks.com.

Everyone and their mother, including me, has a ‘bad cop’ story. However the first thing we all do when we need help is to dial 999 and get the Police to help us. I think they have done an amazing job over this last week under harsh conditions and it is a DAMN SHAME that none of city’s leaders have come out publicly in support of them.
