Lothian Buses Chief ghostwriting?

Rumours abound that Lothian Buses chief executive may be increasing his income by ghostwriting for the Evening News. Various papers shown to us over the weekend clearly show that Gareth Edwards’ article in Friday’s Evening News seems to have pretty much have been written by Renilson the power hungry, council installed puppet at Lothian Buses.

“Edinburgh is a thriving city which has bucked the national trend of late and seen increases in bus usage by local people and the thousands of tourists who visit. “It is entirely reasonable for the bus drivers to share in the increased revenues.”

It is worth asking why the Evening News would lead lead on this story which seems to be looking many years into the future. A more important question for Gareth to ask Mr. Renilson and indeed his Council bosses would be why can Lothian Buses not run a normal weekday service for it’s customers without the drivers working overtime.

We at EdinburghSucks.com are sure that we are not alone in wondering why a drivers overtime ban automatically stops weekday service on Lothian Buses. We also wonder what happened to all the extra money that has come into the bus company when they and the council keep telling us that bus usership keeps growing.
