It’s an all out strike on Lothian Buses

EdinburghSucks!com breaks the news again – Council-owned Lothian Buses will start the all out strike next Tuesday. After the second meeting which took place tonight the drivers voted for the all out strike action.

The vote for the action was not 100%. At this morning’s meeting 2 drivers voted against, and at tonight’s meeting at the Marine Garage 5 of the drivers voted against. So only 7 out of the 1,400 drivers have voted against the action – not totally sure about my maths but isn’t that 99.5%?

The real scoop will come in the morning in the Glasgow Herald. Chief Executive Neil Renilson will be outed for his recent 31% (yep, thirty one percent – read it and weep) pay rise taking his annual salary up to £186,000 for being in command of 600 buses. Makes the drivers’ demands for 6.12% seem a bit petty.

UPDATE:

Bus firm’s director pocketed 31% rise in pay package
