Special needs kids - second class citizens

I take no bungs It looks like Bumbling Andy Burns, the city’s hated senior transport idiot has been lying again and blaming an un-named private hire firm for the Council’s let down of it’s special needs pupils last week.

Edinburgh City Council staff had to drive children to school after not enough private hire and coach firms were found to take them to school in time for the start of term this week.

An urgent report into the blunder is now being drawn up after parents complained that transport bosses were treating their children like “second-class citizens”.

The children who always meet their drivers in advance and are taken to school daily by the same private hire driver were left in the lurch at the beginning of school term last week.

The council’s transport department blamed the problem on a private hire company, which it would not name, for rejecting a number of school runs at the last minute. But that claim has been angrily rejected by drivers, who said that they were not offered contracts until the last minute.

Someone is lying here. It is either the Council or the private hire company. We need to find out who. It is up to the council to release the name of the company and if the name is released then the Private Hire company to sue the Council if they are lying.
