Lib Dem backs the criminal’s friend

A senior Lib Dem spokesman said this week that Eric ‘Teeth” Milligan, the city’s former Lord Provost and friend of convicted resetter and jailbird restauranter Daniel Wencker of Daniel’s Bistro fame, could be up for the top job again.

A senior Lib Dem source said there had been nothing like formal discussions about the idea. He said: “Labour and the Lib Dems will be fighting the elections as sworn enemies - but everyone knows the way the game works. Eric goes back a long way with some of the more senior Lib Dem councillors.”

And the source claimed Lib Dems would not be hostile to the idea of Councillor Milligan as Lord Provost again.

Surely this ’spokesman’ who of course kept his name out of it has a rather short memory.

Recently the only times our former Lord Provost has made the news is when he used police cars as convenor of the Lothian Police Board to go to a football match in Glasgow, then chauffeur him and his councillor friends around the bars of Edinburgh. Readers will of course remember he gave a glowing review, against the city’s Chief Constable to allow the criminal, resetting, jailbird named Daniel Wencker keep his license even after both the Lib-Dem and Conservative groups on the licensing board voted against the criminal landlord being given the license.

Is this really how the Lib Dems politicians work, they will make deals to put resetter’s friends in power?
