Leading city politicians today joined with EdinburghSucks!com call earlier this week for the sacking of city transport supremo Andrew Burns.
Phil Wheeler, the Liberal Democrats’ transport spokesman, agreed it was time for Mr Burns to resign from his post.
and
Iain Whyte, the city’s Tory group leader, said he had lost confidence in Mr Burns overseeing transport in the city.
He said: “I don’t see how Andrew Burns has any credibility left when yet another scheme has been rejected by the public in huge numbers. I think he should go. The officials are not to blame, but instead it lies firmly with Andrew Burns and Donald Anderson [the council leader].”
The Scotsman also mentions the ther key figures who were involved in implementing the ‘nightmare’ for the city’s residents and vistors. They are Andrew Holmes, the director of city development for Edinburgh, and Keith Rimmer, the head of transport. They also have to go – they were also involved in the failed referendum.
