The latest Audit Scotland has blasted the city council for constantly failing to meet their requirements. Citizens of the city are well aware of the shortfalls of living in the city but Audit Scotland highlight the problems for the rest of the country to view.
Audit Scotland’s findings revealed that 56 per cent of the city’s roads were in need of maintenance - the third equal worst figure in Scotland.
Edinburgh’s council tax collection rate is also under fire after it emerged that the local authority is one of the worst performers in the country.
Edinburgh also has the fourth poorest record on collection of rent from tenants.
Edinburgh’s recycling rate for municipal waste is just 16 per cent - well short of the Scottish Executive’s 25 target which councils must achieve next year.
In yet another climbdown, Teflon Don Anderson admits that the city is a mess but “but we should see a major improvement”. May this is to do with the fact that he is taking the Thirty Thousand Pound payoff to stand as an MSP and get more money from the public purse.
