Tonight’s Evening News’ sound off was lively. For those who missed it, here are the edited highlights:
Put trams to vote
I THINK they should have a referendum on the trams. They will cost a lot of money and they won’t serve all of Edinburgh – not only that, there’s the upheaval it’s going to cause.
Margaret Coulson, Whitson Road, Edinburgh
Referendum is a must
I THINK we should have a referendum before the trams are introduced. I also think the bus commuters won’t lose out, because nobody will use the trams.
Mr Gilbertson, Ogilvie Terrace, Edinburgh
Transport back to front
I WOULD like to complain vigorously about the lack of co-ordinated transport in this city. I think the job they are doing is deplorable, and the money they’ve wasted examining all these options could have been far better spent.
Terence Walker, Traquair Park East, Edinburgh
No to new golden rule
I DON’T think we should be giving our councillors up to £30,000 as a golden handshake. I worked all my life and got no golden handshake from anybody, why should they be any different?
They’ve not done anything spectacular in my books, any of them.
A Robertson, Eastfield Gardens, Edinburgh
And so say all of us!
