It seems as though the new site PiltonSucks.com (no relation, but we think they may be a friend) has a readership. One of their correspondents seems very unhappy with what is happening down there and is willing to name names.
Elizabeth Maginnis their local councillor, seems to be having conflicts of interest according to the correspondent.
How come Elizabeth Maginnis who is manager of the Pilton Elderly Project can have her workplace upgraded, with money through the Pilton Partnership of which she is chair?
How come indeed!
She also has certain so called activists under her wing who do not live in the area, yet she nominates them for “woman of the year awards”
Really! A councillor using her influence to help friends, gasp - cannae be true
Councillor Maginnis also stated that when the waterfront development (of which she is chairperson) started there would be a local labour force in place training local people for jobs, this has not happened. Where is the cosultation with the local residents? Only hand-picked activists are consulted or as she would suggest “her allies”. People in Pilton should make councillors like Mrs Maginnis pay at the ballot box.
We at EdinburghSucks.com are nothing but fair. We invite the good Councillor for Granton to contact us with here side of the story - there always is two sides. In the interests of ’social justice’ as the Councillor is convenor of the Social Justice and Older People Scrutiny Panel. We assure ourselves that she will be at her keyboard before we have posted this.
We are sorry Councillor Maginnis, after telling all your friends how proud you were at not being on this site because you keep yourself clean we’re sure we will hear from you.
