Teflon Don to Quit, non-story

Details are a bit sketchy at the moment for us. But many people including the BBC have been visiting EdSucks to find out about Donald “Teflon Don” Anderson. It seems that he is to quit (not before time and will he take a lot of them with him) today.

UPDATE

So it seems that this could well be the non-story of the year from oor leader. Weeks ago everyone knew that he would have to stand down next week because the Labour party are being questioned about the fact that their candidate in last weeks Dunfermline By-Election had the rules bent to keep her an MEP when she lost the seat to the LibDems.

We here at EdinburghSucks have no doubt at all that when/if Teflon Don looses the seat that he will have feathered his nest well and will be available for many consulting jobs where his ‘expertise’ is handy.

The Leader (or if you speak German - Der Führer) will be doing nicely with his pension from the Council, his £20,000 “golden goodbye” and he probably has a pension from working in a lab for about 20 years. Added to that, he will pull in writing jobs probably at the Evening News and various consulting gigs. Mr. Anderson will do “quite nicely, thank you” even if he doesn’t manage to pick up a MSP’s salary and then the pension he gets from that.

Of course Anderson does look after his own in the south of Edinburgh our information from a highly placed source in cleansing is that Anderson’s ward of Southouse and Gracemount is cleaned extremely thoroughly by the cleansing department twice a week - If it is not up to his standard, he is immediately on the phone and crews are dispatched. By contrast other areas of the city including Craigmillar, Niddrie and Niddrie Mill manages to get the street cleaners once every TEN days.
