There was much discussion in the Evening News last night about who would be the next Labour leader when Teflon Don goes, will it be the current Lord Provost Lesley Hinds, will it be the Hippy Rev. - Ewan Aitken or will it be Trevor ‘The Producer’ Davies.
That will be much debated within and outwith the party for the next year while Teflon Don is waiting for the big payoff then hopefully to become somewhere near the bottom of the ballot in South Edinburgh.
The post of the next Lord Provost won’t need to be debated as much. It seems that in a recent meeting in the Cask & Barrel pub in Broughton Street that the deal has already been done.
If as expected, Labour do not win a majority they will back shiny headed and shiny new SNP Councillor Steve Cardownie as Lord Provost if he promises SNP to labour in the votes ahead.
This could well be someone trying to pull the wool over our eyes, but let’s wait and see.
