Interestingly with today’s verdict on transport chief Andrew ‘bumbling Andy’ Burns being cleared of breaching the councillors’ code of conduct it is interesting to look at Chief investigating officer Stuart Allan’s record on this type of thing. It can of course be found here:

Unfortunately he is not doing too well. As one of our contributors says “Now call me cynical, but if out of 8 cases the fiscal was getting a kicking for no convictions in 7 of them, would the local cooncillors not be having something to say??”

Interestingly the 8 cases includes the complaint against the Maroon Balloon Councillor Eric ‘teeth’ Milligan using blue-light taxis to go round the city’s public houses after taking in a Hearts match in Glasgow – I read that one and picked out his lie right away. Also appearing two times in the 8 cases are two to do with the ‘poverty industry’ in Craigmillar – no surprise there then.

Maureen Child was the only one to be found guilty.
