Well it seems that Trevor (little Dick Dastardly) Davies is happy to go on Talk107 and suggest that listeners shouldn’t believe anything they read on EdinburghSucks.com.Â

This came about when a caller into Stephen Jardine’s show on Saturday seemingly suggested that they could have no confidence in planning in Edinburgh because of the snippet we published in our post Planning Officials lie to the committee last week.

Well Councillor Davies, we sent you the email and all supporting documentation today proving that it wasn’t us that was the liars but indeed yourself who lied.Â Unfortunately you haven’t managed to contact us and apologise so maybe it is about time our readers saw the proof for themselves.

The email where your officials said to each other

“I think we should present the Committee with the facts, but not put anything in the report that would lead them towards thinking that they have another avenue of enforcement powers to explore.â€Â

Also, you approved the mast to be built on land, as stated in the application [04/03203/FUL -Click Here for Application] on Page 4 that the land was owned by the City of Edinburgh Council.

However, under the freedom of information act when a member of the Edinburgh community asked the Council if they owned the land, they were told

The property records kept by this department have been examined and advise that the City of Edinburgh Council does not own this ground you described.Â

The records maintained by this department relate to properties owned or used by the council and we do not have any information on the ownership of this particular area.Â However, from local knowledge, it is believed that the ground is owned jointly by the proprietors of the houses situated on the opposite side of Brunstane Road South,â€

So Councillor Davies – I believe we are owed an apology from yourself.Â Yes, readers can believe what they read on this site.Â Unlike yourself Councillor Davies, we own up to our mistakes.Â We have made two in the 13 months we have been live and have apologised for those errors and given the apology the same prominence as the original post.

Councillor Davies you have the following questions to answer:

Why did your planning officials not check to see that the information contained in the application was correct?
Why did T-Mobile think they could get away with putting a false owner in a planning application?
Are there any further T-Mobile applications that have false information on them?
Why did planning officials feel they have the right to withhold information from the planning committee and is this done as normal practice?
What action will you, as Convenor of the Planning Committee, take against the planning officials responsible?
Why did defame EdinburghSucks.com on Talk107 on Saturday?
Was there brown envelope transactions involved in this travesty and if the answer is no, how do you propose proving that to the citizens of Edinburgh?
Will the mast be removed because of the seemingly illegal acts to have this mast erected?
Will the residents around the mast be recompensed for their thousands of pounds of legal fees and hundreds of hours they have spent to uncover the lies and dodgy dealings around this application?
How many other applications have been pushed through with the same problems as this one?

The Liberal Democrats on the council have given Davies the nickname of Dick Dastardly and we were informed that it should actually be ‘little Dick’ Dastardly and when he is running for leader he really shouldn’t be caught out in such untruths.

We are waiting for little dick’s reply to our questions but of course we won’t hold our breath.
