In a couple of our recent posts, Calls to council costs more than calls to Australia and Can the council be this dumb? we highlighed real problems on the pisspoor myEdinburgh website that was set up with way in excess of £1,000,000 of public funds. The following outcomes have resulted:

We are happy to announce that visitors to the website will now not be charged 37.5p per minute for calling the webmaster of the site. This is totally due to the post on this site.
We can also announce that the dodgy company Cityconnect who dupes unsuspecting community organisations by telling them that they are actually the secret partner on myEdinburgh and that they continue to manage the Council’s site now have their years of free advertising from the council stopped by us having the privacy policy page changed.

However, for Ewan Aitken and Co we now have a couple of questions:

How much money has been taken infrom that 0700 number, and more importantly did that money go to the council coffers or the coffers of WabsterIP then Wabster? Remember, we wouldn’t be asking this question if we didn’t know the answer. A FOI request will be forthcoming.
How many agencies/organisations which the council either fund or manage funds to, are the clients of Cityconnect and as the council know that this is an extremely dodgy company, when are they going to inform these unsuspectig community organisations and either withhold or withdraw funds that would end up in the pockets of Cityconnect?
