Capacity Building Project

Craigmillar has chosen - Yeah baby!

The count for the Craigmillar community council election took place this morning and the middle-class professionals, as former ‘Craigmillar Don’ Paul Nolan calls them (or Nolan’s Family and Friends as the rest of us call them), were soundly hammered by the people of Craigmillar!

Crapacity Building Project chief, David Walker and a couple others managed to squeeze in but the EdinburghSucks supported candidates managed to romp home with 12 out of the 16 candidates - although EdinburghSucks take exactly zero credit.  Credit is purely due to the good residents of Craigmillar with a special mention to the hundreds and hundreds who turned out in from Bingham and Magdalene - including the ones who came in the EdinburghSucks sponsored stretch limousine to the Jack Kane Centre throughout the night.

It looks as though Craigmillar is in for some change and we hope that the change is for the good and for the people.  Our eyes and ears on the ground in the area will of course still be watching and listening intently.

The vast majority of the paid poverty industry management in the area who stood were thrown out on their ears despite an extremely dirty and totally unfair campaign carried out by them, including using all the community’s resources for themselves and threats from managers to their staff that if they didn’t vote for them then their jobs would be on the line.
