Council catching up with EdSucks

It seems that the monthly full council meeting is trying to catch up with the stories on EdinburghSucks.

C&FUpdate.gifThe investigation into Cityconnect and ELLP is being asked for my Councillor Mackintosh and will be presented by the Executive Member for Children and Families, Ewan Aitken.  Rev Aitken of course knows that his report is only the tip of the iceberg and more bad news will follow.  Maybe that is why he has just sent out an email to his fellow Labour councillors to let them know that he is indeed a candidate in the upcoming leadership election for the party in the city - he wants to get a bit of distance between himself and Trevor Davis before more bad news hits.

C&FUpdate.gifCouncillor Mackintosh is also asking a series of questions on the close down of the myEdinburgh email service which was instigated by EdinburghSucks because of the huge security risks that came to our attention.  One question Councillor Mackintosh forgot to answer is what is the legal liability of the council if it is proven that a myEdinburgh emailer has had their identity stolen?  The questions he will ask are:

  1. When was the myEdinburgh email service suspended?
  2. How many email accounts were in operation on the myEdinburgh system when it was suspended?
  3. Who authorised the suspension of the myEdinburgh email service?
  4. Why was the myEdinburgh email service suspended?
  5. Was the myEdinburgh email service any less secure to users than the public email services operated by Hotmail and Yahoo! and if so why? (This is the cracker)
  6. What were the terms of notice sent to the users of the myEdinburgh email system informing them of the suspension of the service and when was that notice sent?
  7. What action is being taken to ensure that the circumstances that resulted in the suspension of the myEdinburgh email service will not occur again?
  8. When did the council first become aware of allegations that the myEdinburgh email system was less than secure? (Another cracker)
  9. Are any other email services operated by the council outwith operation control of BT Syntegra?

The answers to these questions will raise a series of new questions and eventually the citizens will get to the bottom of this whole ELLP and Cityconnect nightmare.  It is amazing that the council continue to keep the residents of EdSucks Towers in work, it’s a shame that we don’t get paid, unlike the people we write about.

NolanEN.jpgFinally, a report into the workings of Paul Nolan’s Craigmillar will also be presented but is unavailable on the Council’s website but it is Item 8.4 on the agenda.  This has been covered extensively on EdSucks - Keep checking the details below to find the papers and it will eventually appear there - news to EdinburghSucks.com is that it is going to put in place procedures to stop Nolan and his Nolanites (would that include Shami Khanolan?) and people like them every doing this to a community again.  Upon publication we shall have a lot more to say on that.

The Report into the Edinburgh Lifelong Learning Partnership (ELLP) finally get’s presented to the Council.  This will almost certainly raise many more questions than is answered - see (http://www.edinburghsucks.com/2006/05/29/donald-anderson-tell-the-truth-please/).

Great to see the Council keeping up with EdinburghSucks.com.
