Andrew Holmes

Director, trees and forests

A classic example of you can’t see the forest for the trees hits the letters page of the Evening News.

100,000+ p.a. Director Andrew Holmes has decided to spend his time writing to the newspaper to complain about some of the wording of an article about an OAP who the council took to court for pruning a tree.

With the recent relevations of planning officials deciding not to give the planning committee all the information in case they actually looked into the application properly and not being able to work out who actually owns the land before passing applications for approval it seems that Andrew should really getting his department in order first before chastising the journalists at the Evening News on their faux pas, if indeed there actually was any.  Perhaps our money could have been better spent – is there really nothing more important that the Director of City Development could have been doing or is it just that he doesn’t trust anyone in his Department or the massive Council PR team to express his views.

TrevorDavis.jpgLet’s hope Trevor Davies can convince his Labour colleagues that he can have his Director’s work day planned a bit better if he is going to be successful in his bid for leader of the council.
