City Council

Have FETA dropped the bung already?

The Forth Estuary Transport Authority which run the Forth Road Bridge don’t seem a bit worried about flaunting planning regulations and seem totally confident that Trevor ‘(little) Dick Dastardly’ Davies will rubber stamp their retrospective planning application after constructing the new toll booths 15 metres from where they were supposed to be built.

FETA today admitted the booths were in a different place, but said the original plans had been “conceptual drawings”.

A spokesman said: “We are not anticipating major problems. It will be exactly the same shape and size as in the original plans. We don’t regard this as a significant change in design.”

So that means I can apply for planning permission to build an extension on my house but instead build it on a neighbours house and the council will just ask me to submit retrospective planning permission for the rubber stamp.  Oh… and I don’t have to submit detailed plans - a conceptual drawing is fine.

Arrogant pigs!

Hopefully the expected up to 100 complainers will take it all the way to the Scottish Executive for two reasons.  First is to put the arrogant pigs into their place and secondly to show the totally unfair way in which planning decisions are made in this city.  The people with money get what they want and the citizens get hounded by Dick Dastardly’s flight.
