Being a councillor is good for your bank balance

It seems that being a councillor in one of the poorest areas of Edinburgh is definitely good for your bank balance, especially if you are Bunty Backhander, better known outside the City Chambers as Elizabeth Maginnis.

Maginnis who wears many hats and has serious conflicts of interest is also the Chair of the extremely secretive Edinburgh Waterfront has some high aspirations as the Labour left-winger trying to become leader:

 ”A penthouse flat overlooking the sea there once I’ve retired”

Not bad for Bunty.  Last time the people from EdSucks towers had a look at a penthouse apartment overlooking the sea at the Waterfront, we found out they were currently on offer at £620,000 - not bad for some socialists, or should that be socialites?

Maybe the originators, inside the City Chambers, of the nickname Bunty Backhander have more insight than us!
