Following on a 33 times inflation rise proposed by the Council earlier this week, now visitors to the £341 million+ parliament building will now face another inflation busting rise on entrance costs taking them form £3.50 to £5. Those least able to pay and get in on a concessionary admission ticket are percentage-wise, screwed even more with those costs going up £1.75 to £3.00 almost a 100% rise or 30 times the inflation rate.
Scottish Parliament bosses put a brave face on the situation, claiming the number visiting Holyrood was nearly as many as the 500,000 visiting the House of Commons.
Frightening to see that politicians allow these sort of rises to go ahead. We suppose we should watch out to see if they are going to do the same with their pay.
We wonder if visitors are given out hard hats on the journey round the debating chamber - do we have a full costing for the roof falling down?
