Housing transfer thrashing makes new council HQ a farce

laurel-hardy.jpgYou really can’t make this stuff up!  It now comes out that the new shiny £50 million council HQ being built in the middle of the city is too small to house all the people that are supposed to work in it.

Great stuff Council, counting chickens is done best at the right time, after they have hatched.  Another fine mess you have gotten us in.

The failed bid to transfer the city’s 23,000 homes to the control of housing associations after tenants voted against it has also heaped pressure on the new building. The failure to secure the £2 billion stock transfer means an additional 250 workers whose jobs may have been transferred to a housing association will now have to be accommodated.

There is also a call for Dick Dasterdly’s aircrew in the planning department to be kept where they are at 1 Cockburn Street and that building seems to have been taken off the “Council land grab” list.  The unions are calling it a recipe for disaster - nothing new with council policy there then!

Councillor Brian Fallon has been made the fall guy for a quote to the story and someone must have whispered “hot desking” in his ear so he waffles about that (with no experience nor knowledge of it) for a while in the hope that the journo will get off the phone.

Maybe the US military have already solved their problem……..
