Best education in the world - what happened?

Scotland was once the pride of the world when it came to Education.  A Scots education was the key to opening doors back in the 70s and 80s and many centuries before - so what’s happening in Edinburgh now?

SCHOOL pupils in Edinburgh are among the worst in Scotland when it comes to reading and maths.

A snap survey of all of the city’s primary and secondary schools found a significant number of pupils taken out of classes and tested at random failed exams in both skills.

How can an administration which has been in power for about 13 years allow this to happen.  For sure they can’t blame it on anyone else - this must ask more questions of the City’s education leader Ewan Aitken who has as his Head of Strategy Mike ‘Fraudster’ Rosendale and his director soon to be retiring Roy ‘Jonah’ Jobson.  What have these people done over the past 13 years to make Edinburgh’s basic literacy so bad.

Judith Gillespie, development manager of the Scottish Parent Teacher Council, said: “This report suggests we need to look at numeracy in Edinburgh.

This information once again brings into disrepute the heirarchy of the Education Department within Children & Families.  It is a disgrace to equal proportion of the columns on top of Calton Hill.
