Edinburgh’s council has been found one third responsible for a former Stirling housing officer had a job offer in Edinburgh withdrawn after a warning from an official in Stirling.
The case which will cost the city’s taxpayers £10,000 plus of course legal costs is particularly damning as local authorities like to claim credit as leaders in equalities and anti-discrimination practices.

Although nobody from Stirling council was available for comment, a spokeswoman for Edinburgh City Council said: “We do not comment on individual personnel matters.
