Information leaked to EdinburghSucks.com shows just how good it is to be one of the loved ones in the Chidren & Families Department.
When last year their was a re-organisation of Education and Social Work into Children & Families some of the officials saw their salary almost double and we are now going to ask for the job descriptions before and after the reorganisation.
With the highest pay rise taking his pay package from £48,883 right up to £80,464 which is a massive £31,632 pay rise and a change of title from Service Manager to Neighbourghood Manager comes Mr. Alan Jackson. How can this be right. Was their any advertising of this position because with a huge 65% pay rise - more than 20 times the rate of inflation. There surely must be some sort of oversight on this.
Also in the massive pay rise stakes is Paul Highet whose package went from £52,292 all the way up to £80,464 with again the same title change - a 58% pay rise and probably feeling slightly miffed at only getting a 36% pay rise is Christine Ferguson who went from a Senior Education Officer to a Manager of School Services and saw her package raised from £51,207 all the way up to £69,650.
How can these pay rises be given out to council employees so freely and behind closed doors. What are the changes in the job that demand a 65% pay rise?
At about the same time as these pay rises were awarded the council were fighting with the bus drivers and not giving them their 6.21% pay rise - surely double standards.
So with Mike ‘Fraudster’ Rosendale, soon to be retiring Johah “I’m at another employment trubunal” Jobson and aspiring leader Ewan Aitken on the case for you it seems that the sky is the limit in the salary stakes. All three should be fired from their current positions for this abuse of the system.
