Scottish tourism being damaged

Scottish accommodation providers other tourism businesses have now suffered for over four years the damaging effects on tourism of the visitscotland.com scheme.

The Association of Dumfries & Galloway Accommodation Providers has decided that it is time to launch a National Campaign to deal with what is seen as the root of the problem - the operation of the National Website and its booking system as a commercial venture to earn profits for a private company, rather than as a service to Scotland.

Accordingly, ADGAP has set up a website http://www.reclaimvs.com/ as a platform from which to develop the campaign which includes an e-petition on the Scottish Parliament website and a facility for supporters to sign on to a list to support the campaign generally and receive email updates on progress. The latter facility also allows for people to register support for the complaint to the European Community against VisitScotland in regard to State Aid, contrary to section 87(1) of EC law.

Please support the campaign by visiting the campaign website and registering your support, by signing the petition and placing yourself on the list of supporters. You can also help by forwarding this email to others.
