Capacity Building Project

What really happened down East?

Shami Khan NolanSo that readers and citizens are not truly swayed by last night’s Evening News story ( http://www.scotsman.com/?id=1538292006 ) on the the contest to become candidate for Labour’s safest seat in the Capital where they mention that it is really down to two candidates, here is the skinny.

The seat is being fought tooth and nail and favours have to be returned.  So what actually happened, we hear you ask.

Back in June, Two-faced Shami KhaNolan (the councillor who was called racist by members of the asian community at an East LDC meeting earlier this year) left his ward and dragged his sorry arse up to the Jack Kane Centre for the Craigmillar Community Council election as we covered here well at the time.  Unfortunately for KhaNolan the people of Craigmillar turned out in droves and voted the Nolanites out of office and sent Shami back to his own ward to lick his wounds.  He later went on and abused his position as member of the Police Board to tell all and sundry that his little boy was the nicest person in the city and tamper with evidence by viewing the video of the incident.

two faced shamiNo matter what Shami did, the favour still had to be repaid.  Khan, probably knowing that he will be deselected for the next council election because he is basically an albatross around the current administration’s [brass] neck.  So KhaNolan again dials his hotline to the Evening News and announces he is running for Susan Deacon’s seat - talk about optimism!  Even his constituents are up in arms about the abuse of positions that keep cropping up in the newspapers - they’ve had enough.

Jack Daniels O'DonnellAnyway, the night of the voting at the Jewel Miners Welfare Club comes along and all the Labour lackeys are sitting round the table with the pints firmly in hand.  “Is that all the nominations in then”, asks disgraced ex-councillor David Brown who is surprisingly chairman of his local labour party.  “No!” says David “the thug” Walker who runs Craigmillar’s Crapacity Building Project, is Paul Nolan’s enforcer and right hand man.  “I nominate Shami Khan.”  Swiftly followed by Councillor Jack “Daniels the Taxi Driver” O’Donnell ”I Second that! slurp, slurp.”

Then comes the interesting part, respected (tee hee) Coonsillor Jack Daniels takes a walk outside and gives hopeful candidate, and former council leader, Keith Geddes a call on his mobile.  “It’s done Keith, I got you in” - OOOOOH - You little liar!

Interesting night, the Nolanites which now obviously include Coonsillor Jack have paid back the favour of KhaNolan turning up to support them at the Jack Kane Centre and Jackie boy tries to keep his hand in with what could possibly be the next MSP, Geddes.  Unfortunately for Jackie, we can inform him that Geddes found out on the night of his two-faced lies.

New Labour - New LiesSo the Labour Party is running as per normal - backstabbing, favours for the lads and lies.  Oh what a nice democracy we live in.  The unions go up this week to have their ballot to see who they want in and then next week the members all trot back to have yet another vote - more fun and games to come.

The one big question that hasn’t been answered for us yet is, why does Ian Perry not want Keith Geddes to get nominated?  So far our enquiries haven’t thrown up any real arguements in the past.  Maybe a kind reader could make us just that little bit wiser,
