Paul Nolan does not go away quietly, in fact whist the population of Edinburgh are wondering who dodgy Councillor Tench in the new Ian Rankin book “The Naming of the Dead” is, the locals down in greater Craigmillar have the dodgy councillor down as a carbon copy of disgraced ex-councillor, disgraced community councillor and disgraced community rep Paul Nolan or should that be Tench Nolan from now on?
Continuing on his conflicts of interest down Craigmillar way Nolan is again trying to keep his friends and family in jobs by getting hold of more European money. His son, his wife and his cousin (complete with latest boyfriend) are all on the payroll of European funded projects and now he will be putting the following motion to the Craigmillar Partnership Board meeting on Wednesday to try and ensure that they are all kept in their nice high salaried jobs at the community’s expense.
Future European Funding
The Craigmillar Partnership reaffirms its commitment to future involvement in new European Funding Programmes from January 2007, and agrees:
1.            To support existing Craigmillar European projects in their plan to create a Community European Agency which will also include potential new projects working in neighbouring communities. To assist with the preparation of bids to participate in a Community Planning pilot project for the proposed programme for Lowlands and Uplands Scotland measures:
- Â ERDFÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Priority 2:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Community Regeneration
- Â ESF Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Priority 1: Â Â Â Â Â Progressing into Employment
2.            To support this pilot project for “gap†funding under the Scottish
Executive proposed “shadow round“ of funding bids from January 2007 and future challenge-fund system bids for other priority measures, particularly:
- Â ERDFÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Priority 1:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Enterprise Development
- Â ESF Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Priority 2: Â Â Â Â Â Progressing through Employment
- Â ESF Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Priority 3: Â Â Â Â Â Access to Lifelong Learning
3.            To make representations to the Edinburgh Partnership seeking their support along with other potential partners such as Napier University, the Chamber of Commerce and the British Council.
4.            That appropriate Partnership sub-groups discuss these matters further with a draft proposal to be submitted to the Board’s meeting in January 2007. MovedPaul Nolan
It is a very strange motion considering that the people who wrote it, namely, despicable David Baird (European Funded job) and Mac Wilkinson (European Funded job), don’t have a clue about enterprise development, lifelong learning or community regeneration. In fact if they did they themselves would be progressing through employment themselves instead of sponging off the taxpayer as they have done for all of their working lives, like all of Nolan’s family and friends.
Hopefully, bent taxi-driving Councillor Jack O’Daniels O’Donnell wont let his constituents down once again and tell the Nolanites to take their motion to the toilet and use it to wipe their community arses with it.
