The Council is undergoing a major transformation aimed at modernisation, improved customer service and greater efficiency. Children and Families is the largest service area in the Council with a £300 million revenue budget and 40% of Council staff.

We have brought together all our education and social work children and families services to create a service that puts children and their families at the heart of our work. Effective integration of services, neighbourhood management, joint working with other partnership agencies and a culture of continuous improvement are essential for our success.

We seek an outstanding individual with the vision and leadership to shape the future of children’s services. You will have significant general management experience at a senior level in a large, complex organisation, a commitment to excellence in service delivery and a track record in managing change to deliver improved performance.
