Councillor does a runner!

Well, Well, Well.  Among the mass resignations of Labour councillors in Edinburgh who are taking the money and running before they get thrown out the door next May comes the story of the coonsillor who does a runner.

Deputy Leader of the Council who has for years been telling the people of Meadowbank how well he does for them (including stripping them of their sports facilities at the stadium) has decided he doesn’t want to be answerable to them next year in the fear that they will give him his jotters.

He is of course deputy leader of the council, Vice-Chairman of the ultra-secretative waterfront, Chair of Capital City Partnership amongst a host of titles.  He picks up two full salaries, one as full time councillor and another as full time lecturer at Stevenson College (where does he find the time?).

Anyway, to keep his positions, Ian Perry has decided to do a runner up to Southside and Newington in the hope of getting a seat on the Council where he doesn’t have to admit to letting his constituents down.  Southside and Newington, you’ve been warned.
