Massive full-time nursery cuts to come in Edinburgh

Nursery backpack.jpgNews in today is that the current administration are hiding some news before the election.

Massive cuts are going to happen in full time nursery provision provided by the Council.  There are to be 200 full-time nursery places cut in south and central Edinburgh and we believe it will also be affecting Westerhailles as well.

It is believed that this will cut most deeply in the parts of Edinburgh where childcare is needed most.  It will affect the children and families most in need, the ‘at risk’, special needs, english as an additional language, families especially single parents in training, the very group they are saying should be returning to work.

We hear that the Council Leader Ewan ‘Rasputin’ has issued an edict to make sure everyone stays schtumm until after the election of course this will not affect the good councillor who relies so much on childcare but it will affect the people with no say.

There will also be 30 nursery staff “redeployments”.  What this means we are not sure.

We are looking for more information on this and hopefully someone will contact us with a copy of the edict that Councillor Aitken sent out.  We know that Cowgate under-fives will not be affected.

We also believe that an MSP has asked Aitken about this and as far as we are aware there has been no reply from Aitken but we would also like that MSP to contact us to fill in the blank spaces.

Nobody from the council was available for comment today.

So this is what Head of Strategy for Children & Families, Fraudster Mike Rosendale,  has been working on recently, he had been boasting that it was a top-secret job that would ensure that Councillor Aitken was in his debt.

This is really a job for the Evening News to do some digging.  Our information is that they are currently aware of it but wont cover it because the council won’t collaborate the information.  Obviously if they won’t collaborate the info they won’t deny it either.
