Strategy, what strategy.

A couple of years ago, Children & Families head of strategy, Fraudster Mike Rosendale managed to push through a plan that would put in two extra levels of management in Community Learning and Development (CLD). Regular readers will remember that EdSucks broke the story that the Neighbourhood Managers’ salaries alone would cost the taxpayers of of Edinburgh 88k a piece.

A few days ago, again regular readers will remember that we told you old Fraudster and his missus Christine “hard as nails” MacKay wants to get rid of CLD completely.

Well, a few of the details of their proposals have now been leaked out by numerous contacts within the Department – in fact the morale in the department is so low that school meals want to use it as a sieve.

All senior CLD posts covering Centres, CBAL, and Capacity Building are to go with only Youth and Children seniors safe.

There is also notice that community centres will be managed differently which may confirm an earlier rumour that community centres will no longer be a resource for the community but they will turn into profit centres and be taken over by council arms-length company Edinburgh Leisure.

One of our contacts, who is thought by the Rosendales to be an “insider”, tells us that Rosendale wants to push this through under the guise of making cuts but his real motive is to push all of the voluntary sector down and stop all their lobbying. It would also take out the pesky volunteer management committees that Rosendale feels is stopping him and his missus taking full control of most of the city – The Rosendales don’t realise just how bad of a strategy this would be.

Still on the Rosendales, it is thought by some of his underlings that if it is published on EdSucks then meetings are convened and changes are made. Being aware of this, if the Fraudster should change his plans because of this post, can the seniors affected please give a small anonymous donation to their community centre. Thanks.
