Jobs(on) for the boys which we reported a week ago has now been picked up by the Evening News and Scotsman with with few more details in fact less details than we pubished on EdSucks. Both rags have his job as “Project Manager” which raises questions as to who is right, EdSucks or Scotsman Publications? Is it Project Management or Change Management. We think , as we reported the latter because we never went through press channels to get the info.
One interesting comment on the Evening News story comes from the last Executive Member for Children & Families:
Councillor Andrew Burns, who as former education leader worked closely with Mr Jobson at the city council, said: “I’ve had no involvement whatsoever with any employment Roy has taken up since his retirement.
Being cynics here in EdSucks towers, we just think it is a very, very strange opening statement to make to any journalist. It may just be a CYA (cover your arse) statement but it clearly shows what was going through the good councillor’s mind when the question was asked “It wasnae me, Honest Guv”.
I suppose it will take a bit more research to find out where this job was advertised. We’re sure it wasn’t in the Big Issue (or was it?) which is the publication du jour of especially council and public sector companies trying to hide a job advert when they already have the person for the job before before they have to go through with the fake pesky hiring procedures.
Both publications correctly inform readers that it was Jobson who was the architect of the disasterous schools closure plan and of course the huge defecit that he left behind at Children & Families. What a great person to hire - great background.
Interestingly, although he was also the architect of the PPP plans for Edinburgh’s educational establishments which leaves the city in hock for decades EDI-Parc seem to say his job will be to look for alternatives to PPP for this job?????? How can this make sense - why didn’t he look for alternatives before putting the city in debt for 30 years?
