Another nail in Nolan’s coffin

Disgraced ex-councillor Paul Nolan has now another nail in his coffin with the publication of the shameful story of one of his ex-play workers disgraceful experience whilst working at one of the projects which he lorded over until finally with massive local help in providing information the council closed and drew a line on Craigmillar Childcare Services (CCS) which offered the most expensive nursery places in the City including ALL of the private schools like Cargilfield.

The project was run by Nolan’s cousin Patsy King (known locally as ‘nae knickers’) and employed an extraordinary amount of Nolan & King’s relatives only to be made up with their friends.

Christopher King (Patsy King’s son) was fined after pleading guilty to assaulting Miss Lyall when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last May. Miss Lyall was subjected to numerous disciplinary procedures over the following months and was eventually sacked, despite appealing at every stage. Despite having no legal representation she took her former employers to the tribunal, which CCS did not attend and which lasted just 45 minutes.

Miss Lyall, who was pregnant at the time of the assault, was off sick for two months after the incident as she had complications in the early stages of her pregnancy. She returned to work in January following a meeting with her employer, and expected everything at work to go back to normal.

This has gone on for two years with Nolan and King asking for more and more time from the Tribunal and at times failing to turn up to delay it further. All this on the public purse of course, as is Nolan’s normal mode of conduct.

What makes this even more galling is that CCS still have two places on Craigmillar Community Council where Nolan is the disputed-chair and nae knickers is the treasurer. At the last community council meeting the democratically elected community councillors asked the two representatives to leave but they refused saying that “the company had not yet been wound up” which is in total contradiction to Nolan’s statement to the Evening News:

CCS ceased trading after having its council funding stopped in June. Chairman Paul Nolan said: “The company is in no position to defend itself because it doesn’t exist now.”

Surprisingly neither Nolan or King are representatives on the community council from CCS. One of their representatives is Nolan’s daughter and the other Nolan’s friend. Nolan’s barman son is on the community council representing the local (always closed) publicly funded IT Centre, Haywired. Nolan ‘represents’ the Jack Kane Centre and nae knickers King represents the Craigmillar Credit Union where extremely surprisingly she is Treasurer with her brother being in charge.

This will be one of the final nails in Nolan’s coffin. A Communities Scotland ordered investigation into another of Nolan’s pies, the Crapacity Building Project, is coming to a close with expected clean out of the staff and board. The project is run by Nolanite David Walker who is also known as the live-in hump of Nae Knickers. Nolan sits on the board and runs the project which got over half a million pounds in public funding last year and nobody in the community has any idea of what happens in the building. The project is failing so bad that all of the community organisations which don’t have Nolan links and used the building in the past have moved out of the building and the project itself decided at it’s last board meeting that they would decide which members of the community could enter the building. Needless to say, anyone who has questioned Nolan either in the past or recently has been barred sine die including community councillors who were democratically elected at the ballot box.

In October there will also be another hearing (hopefully final) in the Court of Session to rule Nolan’s stealing of the community council illegal.
